Edison’s Bulb

By December 18, 2015CMF Blog

The New York Times recently wrote an article on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Ringling Brothers Circus of 1890 was a huge hit, but it wasn’t the “Human Serpent” or the man walking on stilts that drew in the large crowd, it was the introduction by Thomas Edison of the incandescent lightbulb; the “orb that could emit bright light without any fire at all.”

As we think about product development and marketing plans for 2016, perhaps there are lessons from 125 years ago that can bring “great ideas to light.”
