Today marks the 150th anniversary of the assassination of President Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth. This catastrophic event occurred just six days after the surrender of General Lee at Appomattox to General Ulysses S. Grant.

From this great man who delivered the “House Divided” speech on June 17, 1858 (“A house divided cannot stand”) and the Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863 (“The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here”), we learn that words and leadership do matter.
